Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 7 September 2026

1. Who we are

Suddenly Responsible is a trading name of Debra Bell, a sole trader.

You can contact us at hello@suddenlyresponsible.co.uk.

2. What these terms cover

These terms apply when you buy or use the paid Suddenly Responsible information and practical tools, referred to below as the “paid area”. By placing an order, you agree to these terms. Please save or print a copy for your records.

You must be at least 18 years old and buying as a consumer for your own personal use.

3. What you are buying

The paid area is a self-guided digital information service. It includes practical information, questions, scripts, planners and related resources about supporting someone through illness, hospital, discharge, care and changing responsibilities.

The exact sections included are shown in the product before you purchase.

It is not a staffed helpline, emergency service, clinical service or substitute for individual medical, legal, financial or social-care advice.

4. Price and payment

The price shown at checkout is the total price payable unless the checkout clearly says otherwise. Access to the paid area is currently sold for a single payment of £29, with no recurring subscription.

Payment is taken through the payment provider shown at checkout. We do not receive or store your full card details.

5. Access

Access normally begins immediately after successful payment. You may need to create or use a secure account with the platform that delivers the paid area.

Your access has no fixed expiry date and includes updates we make available to the information it contains. “Lifetime access” means access for as long as we continue to operate the paid area. It does not promise that the service or every feature will remain available indefinitely. If we decide to close the paid area, we will give reasonable notice where practicable.

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for giving us accurate contact information.

6. Your right to cancel

Consumers normally have 14 days to cancel a distance contract. Because the paid area contains digital content supplied immediately, the checkout asks you to expressly request immediate access and acknowledge that your 14-day right to cancel will be lost once supply begins.

If you do not give that express consent and acknowledgement, we may delay access until the cancellation period has ended.

This does not affect your statutory rights if the digital content is faulty, not as described or not provided with reasonable care and skill. To ask about a cancellation, refund or problem, email hello@suddenlyresponsible.co.uk with your name, purchase email and order date.

7. Personal-use licence

We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the paid area for your own private purposes.

You must not copy, resell, publish, share account access, distribute substantial parts of the content or use it to create a competing product. You may print or save reasonable extracts for your own use and share an individual prompt or checklist with a family member or professional involved in the situation.

8. Using the guidance safely

Information is general and may not fit your circumstances. Health services, social care, funding and legal arrangements vary across the UK and can change. Check important decisions with the relevant service or a suitably qualified professional.

If someone is seriously unwell, in immediate danger or cannot be kept safe, contact the appropriate urgent or emergency service. Do not wait for a response from us.

9. Availability and changes

We may improve, correct, add to or remove content and features. We do not promise a particular update schedule. We may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, security or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may suspend or end an account if it is used unlawfully, fraudulently, to harm the service or in serious breach of these terms. Where reasonable, we will contact you first and give you an opportunity to put matters right.

10. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.

We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business loss arising from consumer use, or for decisions made contrary to clear safety advice or without appropriate professional input.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information and how the free website tools store certain details on your device.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for legal, security or service reasons. The version that applied when you bought access will continue to govern that purchase, except where a change is required by law or is more favourable to you.

13. Law and complaints

Please contact us first if something is wrong so we can try to resolve it.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you keep any mandatory rights and may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under consumer law.
